Step-by-step guide

1

Upload your contracts

Go to Upload and add your contract files. Supported formats: PDF, DOCX, TXT, HTML, XLSX, and images. The system extracts text automatically (with OCR for scanned documents) and identifies renewal clauses, termination notices, and payment terms.

2

View your contracts

Open Contracts to see all uploaded files. Click a contract to view its details and extracted obligations. Use Find Contracts to search by clause text, vendor, obligation type, or risk. Each obligation links back to the source text for full traceability.

3

Understand the contract

On the contract page, read the "About this contract" brief for a plain-language summary of what the contract is and what it commits you to. Use "Explain this contract" for a walkthrough where every statement cites the clause it comes from. The "Against your playbook" panel shows where the contract deviates from your standard positions.

4

Review extracted obligations

Use the Review Queue to go through extracted obligations. The queue separates items worth your judgment from sweepable noise, so you can clear routine items quickly. For each item, review the source text and consequence impact (breach/default risk), then choose Track to keep it or Dismiss to drop it. You can edit details before tracking. Only tracked obligations become deadlines.

5

Resolve exceptions (if any)

Check the Exceptions queue for conflicting or unresolved data. Triage and resolve these so obligations stay accurate and consistent.

6

Track obligations and deadlines

Go to Obligations to see all accepted obligations in a list or timeline view. The Calendar gives you a date-based view of deadlines. Filter by contract, type, or date range. Export to CSV or Excel for reporting.

7

Take action on obligations

Use the Action center to see operational tasks tied to obligations. Assign owners, track SLA status, and follow through on renewal notices, termination deadlines, and payment terms.

8

Monitor from the dashboard

The Dashboard gives you an overview of upcoming deadlines, review queue status, and exception counts. For portfolio insights, vendor exposure, and risk views, use Analytics.

9

Set up notifications

Configure Notifications to get reminders before deadlines. Choose email, Slack, or in-app alerts so you never miss a renewal notice or termination deadline.

Portfolio risks, audit, and team

Use Flags to triage scoped contract findings with filters and drill-down to each agreement. For compliance-oriented review, open Audit; for a broader activity stream, use Activity Log. Manage workspace members from Team.

Decisions

Open Decisions to work through renewal and termination decisions. Each comes with a grounded recommendation tied to the contract terms, so you can see the reasoning before you decide.
